“Say not, ‘When I have free time I shall study,’ for you may perhaps never have any free time,” said Hillel. Smart man! Most of us are busy running from event to event, whether it is for work, family or community. Finding the time to explore topics in which we have an interest always seems to take a back seat. Well, this year don’t let it.
We are pleased to offer a range of learning options, from language to text to ritual practice, some ongoing and some just in one session. Find something or things that interest you, and make the time!
We look forward to learning with you!
Bible Study is held on Mondays from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon
Torah study is held on Shabbat morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Discussion on the parsha of the week and readings from the prophets are included, led by either the Rabbi, Cantor or lay leadership.
Congregants are welcome to participate in any weekly program. Due to the nature of the study, it is possible to join at any time.
Scholar-in-residence programs take place several times a year. These programs bring noted scholars to Har Sinai Congregation for a weekend of learning. Scholars usually teach after Shabbat services on Friday night and again after Havdalah on Saturday.
