Har Sinai Congregation is a vibrant, active, full-service Congregation located around the corner, in the beautiful Greenspring Valley, on the corner of Walnut and Greenspring Avenues in Owings Mills.
Founded in 1842, we are the nation’s oldest continuously Reform community, yet our historic role has been one of reformers and innovators in worship, learning, programming, interfaith dialogue, social action and technology.
Because we recognize that education is key to the future of our people, Har Sinai Congregation is dedicated to lifelong learning with the purpose of instilling within our members an energized love and knowledge of Judaism. We accomplish this in our children through our youth education and programming and in members of all ages through exploring and sharing the joy of Judaism and its on-going relevance in our lives.
We strive to build a deep sense of community among our members so that our Congregation is a center for us to find social, educational and cultural fulfillment, and so our activities and programming are focused on contemporary living…its challenges and opportunities. We work to provide visionary leadership in our community and to cultivate in our members a life-long love of our Jewish heritage…L’dor Vador: from generation to generation.
There are many reasons that might draw you to synagogue membership: the warmth of a Jewish connection, a commitment to provide children or grandchildren with a religious education, your own intellectual or spiritual curiosity about our faith or an interest in social action and “tikkun olam” (repairing the world). Our website can tell you some of our story, but you really have to take an hour and stop by to meet some of us to really get a sense of what has attracted so many to Har Sinai Congregation.
